RESPONSIBLE HOLIDAYS: LET’S CARE FOR NATURE TOGETHER
Committed to Sustainability

At Camping Platja Brava, our mission goes beyond offering you an unforgettable holiday — we strive to do it while caring for the planet. Over the years, we’ve implemented a range of sustainable measures to reduce our environmental impact and create a more nature-friendly environment.

What are we doing for sustainability?

Clean energy & energy efficiency

  • Installation of photovoltaic panels (100 kW since 2022) to generate renewable electricity.
  • Thermal panels to heat water in sanitary block W.C. 3.
  • Full replacement of all indoor and outdoor lighting with LED technology and timer systems.
  • Smart sensors and home automation systems to optimize air conditioning in bungalows and shared spaces.

Water efficiency

  • Flow reducers in showers and taps, plus dual-flush toilets.
  • Automated drip irrigation for hedges and gardens.
  • Use of gravel and bark mulch in landscaping to reduce the need for watering.
  • Reduced filtration cycles in the swimming pool system.
  • Signage in common areas to encourage water-saving habits.

Sustainable mobility

  • Electric vehicle fleet and bicycles for staff use.
  • Bike rental service for guests to move around sustainably during their stay.

Waste management

  • Two recycling points (behind W.C. 5 and along Carrer Tramuntana), with containers for:
    • Yellow (plastic and packaging)
    • Blue (paper and cardboard)
    • Green (glass and bottles)
    • Special bins for BBQ charcoal
  • Specific waste collection for batteries, medication, and cooking oils.
  • Gradual elimination of single-use plastics, replaced by biodegradable alternatives and reusable utensils.

Sustainable spaces

  • New bungalows designed with eco-friendly criteria: energy-efficient appliances, sustainable materials, and power-saving systems.
  • 7-a-side football pitch and artificial turf areas to reduce water consumption.
  • New natural grass near the pool (PASPALUM SEAISLE2000), known for its drought and salt resistance and low water requirements.

Responsible consumption & local support

  • Use of eco-friendly, biodegradable cleaning products.
  • Promotion of local produce in our shop and restaurant, including Pals rice and D.O. Empordà wines.

How can you help?

Every action counts — your contribution makes a difference. During your stay, we encourage you to:

  • Save water: turn off taps when not in use and take shorter showers
  • Use energy efficiently: set air conditioning between 24–26°C
  • Recycle properly: use the designated recycling areas and avoid littering
  • Report issues: let reception know if you notice any water leaks or malfunctions in taps or irrigation

Our commitment to a greener future

At Camping Platja Brava, we believe “Less is More”. We’ve redesigned our spaces to ensure a respectful coexistence with the natural environment. But this is just the beginning — we remain committed to reducing emissions, promoting sustainable practices, and working hand in hand with our guests and partners.
